Skaj (skay, derma, dermatoid, eco-leather, eco leather, artificial leather) - upholstery material that is imitation of natural leather. A polyester, cotton or blend fabric coated with a layer of plasticized polyvinyl chloride, polypropylene, etc. The material may have such a texture that it resembles e.g. animal skin. Eco-leather is used in upholstery, mainly due to the lower price compared to real leather, also for the production of haberdashery, book covers. Skaj is waterproof.
